The field experiment was conducted at Genetics and Plant Breeding Research Farm, Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad. The experimental material consisted of 100 germplasm lines and four checks viz. Uttara, Pant U-31, Shekhar and NDU-1, carried out in Augmented Design. The observations recorded on 11 quantitative characters viz. days to 50 % flowering, days to maturity, plant height (cm), number of primary branches per plant, number of clusters per plant, number of pods per cluster, number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant (g), 100-seed weight (g), biological yield per plant (g) and harvest index (%). On the basis of high mean performance of the characters other than seed yield, the genotypes PLU-143, KU -11/16, KU-315,KU-5-549, SU-323, KU -333 and KU -364 were early for days to 50% flowering and days to maturity both, KM-6-132, KU -370 and SU-311 these genotypes for short plant stature, for primary branches, C-7829, NDU-99-2, for clusters per plant, KU-10/14 for pods per cluster, C-69 for seeds per pod, C-126 for seed yield (g), per plant C-14 for100-seed weight (g), C-45 for biological yield per plant and KU-360 for harvest index.

University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad (India). He has published more than 20 research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is expert on Pulse Breeding.
